Fecal incontinence is underdiagnosed, undertreated, and hard to navigate. An estimated 17% of adults experience it, but fewer than 5% are ever treated. How It Works — The CaseSherpa PNE Pathway

Our platform manages all seven stages of the PNE pathway end-to-end:

STAGE 01

Screening

Patients receive an automated SMS survey with six validated bowel-control questions. Positive screens are routed directly to a telehealth scheduling link — no call-backs, no voicemails, no missed handoffs.

STAGE 02

Telehealth

Patients self-schedule their consultation through a HIPAA-compliant booking page. Visits run on integrated Zoom, with the clinical note populated in real time. Automated 24-hour and 1-hour reminders keep no-show rates low.

STAGE 03

Behavioral Assessment

The care manager documents the patient’s readiness to proceed. Patients who aren’t ready yet stay in a re-engagement queue for med trials and behavioral modifications — so no one falls off the radar.

STAGE 04

Pre-Op

Benefits verification, pre-certification, and scheduling are tracked in one place. When the PNE date is set, CaseSherpa automatically generates and sends pre-op orders and the surgery posting to the ASC.

STAGE 05

PNE Procedure

The procedure is performed by a CaseSherpa-trained APP. Procedure notes are generated immediately after and e-signed within the platform.

STAGE 06

Post-Treatment

A post-op telehealth consultation is auto-scheduled for 72–96 hours after the procedure. Patients receive reminder texts and self-book through the same scheduling flow.

STAGE 07

Follow-Up & Referral

Based on procedure response, the patient is routed to an implanter or returned to conservative management — with every decision documented and every handoff tracked.
